Document 12: Email and Communications Terms
Plain-language summary: This explains the email Relae itself sends (including account notices, inquiry replies and beta correspondence) and the consent and opt-out rules that apply. It also confirms the important rule: Relae does not send fundraising emails to your donors; the Platform can help draft them, and you send them from your own email, as the sender of record.
1. Account messages, inquiries and beta correspondence
Relae sends account, security and operational messages and replies to inquiries or access applications. A beta-waitlist submission requests correspondence about that request and beta access for the relevant region; it does not subscribe you to unrelated newsletters or campaigns. Reply to beta correspondence or contact privacy@relae.ai to ask to leave the waitlist or stop those updates.
Messages must be assessed by content and purpose under applicable law; not every waitlist message is transactional. Where promotional email requires consent, it must be obtained and documented before sending. Promotional messages must identify Relae and include a working way to unsubscribe, and applicable opt-out requirements must be respected. Privacy-notice acknowledgment alone is not broad promotional consent. Necessary account messages are separate from optional subscriptions.
2. Relae does not send to Donors
Relae does not send fundraising or marketing messages to Donors. The Platform's drafting features (for example thank-you drafting) produce drafts only; the Customer sends them from the Customer's own systems and is the sender of record, responsible for CASL consent, sender identification, and unsubscribe for its donor communications.
3. Customer responsibility
The Customer is responsible for compliance with CASL and applicable law for all communications it sends to its Donors, including obtaining and documenting the consent CASL requires. Relae's drafting assistance does not transfer any of that responsibility to Relae, and Relae makes no representation that draft content satisfies a given recipient's consent status.
