Invite your team

Most Relae workspaces have one or two people in them. Roles still matter, for the board member who wants to see progress and the bookkeeper who needs the finance report.

Admin. Everything, including settings, billing, receipting configuration, team management and data settings. Usually the executive director.

Manager. All donor work, plus the team-wide views: everyone’s activity, the full pipeline, the scorecard rollup across officers.

Officer. Donor work. Their own portfolio, records, notes, tasks and the worklist. They see their own line on the scorecard rather than the team’s.

Viewer. Read only. For a board member or a bookkeeper who needs to see without changing anything.

Roles are set per person, per organization. What the organization as a whole can do is set by your plan, separately.

  • Your executive director. Admin.
  • A part-time fundraiser or consultant. Officer, or manager if they oversee others.
  • A board member on the development committee. Viewer.
  • Your bookkeeper. Viewer is usually enough. They need reports, not records.

Give the least access that lets someone do their job. Donor records hold sensitive personal information, and read access to everything is not a courtesy.

Invite by email address from team settings, and choose their role. They receive an invitation and set up their own sign-in. You can change a role or remove someone at any time.

Removing someone ends their access immediately. The work they recorded stays, attributed to them, because a contact report is a record of what happened.

Most board members do not want an account. For sharing progress, a read-only campaign view is usually a better fit than a login, and it needs nothing from them. See reporting to your board.

Anyone can turn on a second sign-in step from their own security settings. For an account holding donor records, it is worth the two minutes.
